YELLOW RICE






 YELLOW RICE

2 cups basmathi rice,soaked for 1 hour ( I use long variety basmathi rice)

3 cups water

1 cup coconut milk

1 pandan leaf,tied into a knot

1 stalk serai,smash a bit

¼ tsp turmeric powder

Salt to taste

For tempering

1 big onion,sliced finely

2 cm ginger,sliced finely, if you like to add

2 – stalk kari leaves

2 cloves

1 stick cinnamon

3 cardamons

5-6 tbsp ghee

Heat the oil and fry the tempering ingredients  till very fragrant. Add in the rest of the

ingredients and cook in a rice cooker till done. Serve with any kind of sambal you like.
