VAZHAKKAI VARUVAL
4 raw banana, remove only the green part only. and cut into small cube. as soon as you cut fried it in hot oil till light brown. so that the banana will not turn into i black color you know what I mean.
To grind:
1/3 cup grated coconut
1 big tomato, chopped
2 pieces cinnamon, break into small pieces
4 cloves
4 garlic, chopped
1 small piece ginger, chopped
6 small onion, sliced
1 tsp fennel seeds
2 tsp chilie powder
4 dry chilie, remove seeds and soaked
2 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp sugar
Grind all the above ingredients with very little water into a paste
To temper:
¼ cup oil, up to your taste
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp fennel seeds
1 big onion, sliced
4-5 dry chilies, broken
Kari leaves
Coriander leaves
1. Heat oil and when the oil is hot add in the mustard seeds and fennel seeds let splutter.
2. Add in the dry chilie and onion sauté then add in the kari leaves. stir well and add in the grind masala .
3. Mix well add in ½ cup water (a bit more if needed) and mix well till the oil rise.
4. Add in the fried banana and mix well add in salt to taste. stir fried till a bit dry. serve with rice
