FISH MOLEE



FISH MOLEE

500 gm fish,any kind fish you like mix with a bit of turmeric powder and salt. Fry and keep aside

2 big onion, thinly sliced

4 garlic, crushed

2 green chilie, sliced ( I use one green and one red for the colour)

1 small piece of ginger,sliced finely

4 ripe tomato, cut into wedges 

1 tsp mustard seeds

1 tsp of cumin seeds 

1 tsp of turmeric powder

1 tsp of coriander powder

1 tsp of cumin powder

2 stalk of kari leafs

A hand full of chopped coriander leafs

1 cube of ikan bilis stock, if you like

1 tsp of sugar

Salt to taste

½ tbsp of lime juice

2 cup water

2 1/2 cup thick coconut milk

2 tbsp oil

1.    Heat the oil and add in the mustards seeds,cumin seeds then add in the onion,garlic,ginger,chilie and curry leafs. Fry till fragrant.

2.    Then add in the tomato and mix well then lower the heat and add in the powders mix well and add in the water and bring it to a boil.

3.    Add in the sugar,ikan billis stock and salt. Mix well and add in the fried fish. Mix well and let it cook for 5 mints. Then add in the thick coconut milk and bring it to boil remove from the heat and add the lime juice and the chopped coriander leafs. Serve with string hoppers.

Note: Don’t over boil after you have add in the thick coconut milk. Taste first before you add in the lime juice add only if you like it very sour.
