TOYAKANDHA THUVAIYAL ( daun sirih cina )

Daun sirih cina or peperomia pellucida is a plant found in various shaded,damp habitats. Y

ou can google and find out about it’s medical benefits.

200 gm toyakandha leaves and branchs, break in to

pieces.

½ cup grated coconut.

1 tbsp uluttham paruppu

1 tbsp kadalai paruppu

1 tsp mustard seeds

5-6 dry chillie or to your taste , broken.

4 garlic, chopped

1in ginger, chopped

tamarind juice to your taste

Salt to your taste

4 tbsp oil

1.   heat the oil and when the oil is hot add in the mustard seed. and let it crackle.then add in the ulutham and kadalai paruppu and fry the dals until they turn golden and fragrant.

2.   Then add in the dry chilie,garlic and ginger stir fry . then add in the coconut stir fry until the coconut turn a bit golden brown.

3.   Add in the toyakandha leaves and stir fry don’t over fry it.

4.   Let it cool before you grind it with salt and tamarind juice into a coarsely. serve with rice.
