KUIH CARA VEGETARIAN
FILLING:
200 gm vegetarian mutton, cut into small cubes.
1 medium size onions, finely sliced
2 tbsp garlic ginger paste
Curry leaves, finely sliced
2 tbsp oil
1 tbsp full meat curry powder
1 tsp chilie powder
1 tsp garam masala powder
1 tsp vegetarian chicken stock powder
Salt to your taste
½ cup water
1. Heat the oil and add in the onion and stir fry add in the paste and mix well till the raw smell disappear. Add in the curry leaves mix well pour water and mix well let comes to a boil.
2. Add in the powders and mix well. Add in the vegetarian mutton and mix well and fry till dry. Remove from the heat and let it cool before using
FOR THE CARA BATTER:
21/2 cup self raising flour
2 cup thin coconut milk
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp vegetarian chicken stock
2 tsp sugar
1 tsp turmeric powder
In a bowl add in all the ingredients expect the coconut milk. Add in the coconut milk little by little till you get a batter without laps. It must not very thin or very thick add more coconut milk if needed. Keep aside
FOR GARNISH:
Spring onion, finely sliced
Red chillies, finely sliced
METHOD:
Heat a kuih cara pan and when hot add in a little oil in the holes. Pour in the batter and let it cook a bit. Then add in the filling and top up with the garnish. Cover the pan let it cook. Remove the kuih cara and serve with tea.
