MUNG BEANS VADAI



MUNG BEANS VADAI

1 cup skinless mung beans, soaked for 4-5 hours

2 cm ginger

1 tsp cumis seeds

1 cup mash potatoes.

1 tbsp plain flour

1 tsp baking powder

1 tsp fennel seeds

1 big onion,sliced finely

2 green chillies,sliced finely

1 stalk kari leaves,sliced finely

A little coriander leaves,chopped

Salt to taste

Oil for frying

1. Put the beans,cumis seeds and ginger and in a blender and blend till smooth and fine.

2. Put the paste in a bowl and add the rest of the ingredients and mix well.

3. Heat the oil for frying. With a wet hands form the mixture into a flat patties about 6 cm in diameter and make a hole in the centre. Drop into the hot oil and fry until it becomes golden brown. Serve with chili sauce if you like.
